Facebook and Who You Know

July and August have been busy months for me with my painting sales. I would have to say that Facebook has played a HUGE part in driving my sales and general interest. What a great forum it has been to display and sell my works. Throughout the last year I have sold over 1/3rd of my paintings so far. A huge thank you to my friends, family and facebook friends who have loved my work enough to buy and place in their homes.

Toscanis at Orion Springfield Lakes is also a fantastic avenue for me. To date, 8 of my works have sold to their wonderful and friendly customers. Sometimes, its even a case of who you know. At a Gala Event we went to last week, I met the most lovely lady. She, after viewing my works on my iPhone, bought a piece which is to be delivered this week.

I set up at the Brookwater Markets on the weekend, which unfortunately wasnt as successful as I would have liked. The market is VERY quiet. Lots of fantastic people and it was exciting to be there and show my works, but not the best place to make any sales.

Back to basics for me, I think. Facebook, Toscanis and Who You Know are tried and tested. Something I might think about in the future would be having a champagne and cheese night to display my works for sale… actually, if you think this is a good idea and would like to come…… encourage me and let me know! New Art Group

I have been searching for an art group of likeminded people to come together to paint, learn and share techniques. Finally I have found them! Today was the second visit and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there!
Here is a pic of something I started whilst there!
Will keep posting the updated painting!

Commissioned and Facebook Sales

With the addition of my latest “for sale” album on facebook, I am pleased to say I had a beautiful customer in Perth and her friend purchase a painting each.  They have been sent off and due to arrive safely any day now.

Another beautiful customer, this time in San Diego, California.  Commissioned me to paint her a piece which is also in transit!    I cant wait to have some pictures sent to me, showing me them up on their new walls!

To have a look at the album, you can become a fan on facebook and scroll through the “Available and For Sale” album

End of Financial year

The end of the first year of Bkm11 is upon us.   It has been a fantastic year of learning and growing and experimenting and creating.    From my first personal sale to the business purchases and donations,  I am always thrilled to see the connection between my paintings and their new owner.

It humbles me to know that they are appreciated and enjoyed.   To date, I have sold 1/3 of my paintings, and donated 4 others to a charity and our school’s fete for fundraising.

A Huge Thank you to all my customers and fans for supporting me throughout my first year of business.

May Update

Bkm11’s   “About Me”  has been updated this week.  I have been busy these last few weeks with clearing my older paintings. The drying room is finally looking emptier now!  Still some to clear though… dont hesitate to offer me a price on your fave…. then…… there will be Room for more!!!!….

The White Balloon Day donation of a painting for Bravehearts is to be delivered to Arundel on Thursday.  I have posted a pic up now….

As well as my latest piece!

White Ballons for Bravehearts Inc.

Recently I had a request for a painting to donate to Bravehearts Inc.  Head office.   They are a wonderful charity who are leaders in child protection.  The humble white balloon has been adopted by Bravehearts as symbolic of the issue of child sexual assault.   I will get started straight away and will post the finished piece when its done.

THanks Cameron Messer again for updating my website, you will notice my 3 new paintings up now!  Cheers Cam!

The Ipswich Art Awards on Wednesday night went off without a hitch and we all had a fab night.  Lots of beautiful and amazing paintings to be seen!

Ipswich Art Competition

After having  “I had a Dream” framed, then renamed  “Through the square Window”   I have entered it in the Ipswich Art Comp.  Opening night this Wednesday night at ST Pauls Church Hall, cnr Darcy Doyle Place and Limestone, Ipswich.  The display runs for about 2 weeks.  This will be my first time entering and I am really excited to see all the art on show,  Ipswich has some great talent!

Here is a sneak peak at my “cherries cherries cherries”  this is the newest edition to my collection!

March Update…………

So this month I have been busy painting with some rather LARGE Linen Canvas…….. much enjoyed.   THe first was my “I shall call it Sunrise”  it has recently been updated on my website.  It was another painting of mine that was totally random and unplanned… gotta love those.  The second was a moody clifftop with  my windblown trees I named “Standing Still”  this painting started with the blown trees and became the rolling hills with the ocean crashing in the background.  This again is a new addition to my webpage.  Thanks to Cameron Messer 🙂

January Pieces

The month of January has been a hectic one with juggling family and holidays and all the fun stuff that comes with this time of year.  Now that Feb has us within its grasp I have some time to upload some of my latest paintings.  I have a few that I am really happy with.. The first is called Starry Starry Night, it is a little bit odd but quite appealing (to me at least :))

The second is called Wedding Bells and is The Albert St Uniting Church in Brisbane.  It is where my husband and I were married in 2001. My interpretation of coarse….. as the church isnt actually suspended in the clouds 🙂   It is also the very same church my parents in law and grandparents in law were married incidently.  I really appreciate feedback so please feel free to write on my blog.. I always try and reply timely enough!

I hope you like my new pieces!

Canvas Board Painting

I have painted my last 3 paintings on canvas boards. I really like the results.  The first was a special night scene with a chapel in the light of the moon named “I had a Dream”  It is a thumbs up from all viewers.  The second is a different kind  spin on my original “Dark Array” It is a romantic dance between 11 roses, I called it “Love me Tender” I am really very happy with the finished piece. I will have Bella Art Gallery frame the two of these ornately.

The third painting is still underway… its the rolling waves crashing onto the beach with a typical bkm11 style sunset. The sky is simply stunning, with the mountains in the distance and a lighthouse near the sea.  The sand is done also. The ocean is still underway. Will update with a photo soon!
